Amman-Jordan: MENA Geothermal, a leading-edge company that specializes in the design and installation of geothermal heating and cooling systems in the Middle East and North Africa region, completed the installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system at one of the largest villas in Dabouq, Jordan.

Through Jordan GBC initiative “A visit and an Idea” this outstanding achievement in the field of renewable energy was recognized in the belief of Green Building Council to enhance communication, networking and exchange of ideas for the implementation of joint activities and projects with the company.

A presentation was given to Jordan GBC during their visit to site about the geothermal system installed in the villa, which is the first system of its kind that offers several integrated services through one system only. The system utilizes in this building a vertical closed loop installed at 100 meter deep. Five heat pumps distribute hot and chilled water to a fan coil distribution system in the winter plus 4-pipe AHU all year around. In addition to covering 100% of DHW demands and heating of indoor swimming pool, as well an external swimming pool utilizing rejected building heat in the summer.

Khaled Al Sabawi, President and Founder of MENA Geothermal said: “The success we achieved at installing a geothermal system in the villa after another contractor’s attempt that failed at installing a geothermal system, affirms MENA Geothermal’s extensive experience in the installation of efficient geothermal systems, the importance of MENA Geothermal high ethical standards and its highly qualified team of engineers who are certified by the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC), and the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA)”.

Mr. Al Sabawi appreciates the visit of Jordan GBC initiative to site as it opens the doors for future cooperation. He stressed that MENA Geothermal is dedicated to offering a geothermal technology that provides an advanced low-emission and renewable source of energy to provide households and commercial buildings with heating, cooling and hot water. As a result, geothermal technology can reduce heating and cooling operating costs by as much as 60 to 70% compared to other conventional systems.

The Palestinian MENA Geothermal company established its branch in Jordan in late 2012, where it is currently witnessing rapid growth. It recently concluded the design and installation of a geothermal system at the American University in Madaba. MENA Geothermal won its first Energy Globe Award in 2008 for this project. Furthermore, MENA Geothermal designed and installed this system in an apartment in Arcadia Residential Complex and in one of the luxurious villas in the Etihad Villas, a project of MENA’s sister company- UCI, a leading company in the field of construction and real-estate development in Palestine, where its current General Manager is Mr. Al Sabawi also.
